Mission Safe Schools is the flagship national initiative of the National Council for School Safety (NCSS), created to recognise, benchmark and strengthen schools that are making meaningful contributions towards child safety, safeguarding and institutional excellence.
Every participating school is evaluated against the NCSS 4Ps Framework, the same structure that governs how safety is built, assessed, and sustained across the programme. It moves institutions beyond one-off compliance towards systems that actually hold up.
Policy, governance and compliance frameworks
Process, operational systems and protocols
People, trained and accountable stakeholders
Practice, consistent, everyday implementation
Recognition is based on demonstrated implementation, documented evidence and measurable outcomes, not declarations or intent. Every submission is reviewed first against the 4Ps Framework, then by an independent jury.

Mission Safe Schools is the flagship national initiative of the National Council for School Safety (NCSS), recognising and benchmarking schools that demonstrate excellence in child safety and safeguarding. It culminates in the Mission Safe Schools Summit on 19 November 2026 in New Delhi.
NCSS is India's first national community dedicated to strengthening school safety, child safeguarding and institutional resilience, working with schools to build sustainable systems through governance, capacity building, assessment and community engagement.
Every participating institution is evaluated across four pillars, Policy, Process, People and Practice, using the NCSS 4Ps Framework, based on submitted documentation and evidence rather than declarations of intent.
Yes, an Institutional Participation Fee of Rs 60,000, which covers assessment, jury evaluation, Summit participation, knowledge documentation and the School-to-School Impact Initiative. This is not an award fee, recognition is determined solely through assessment and jury evaluation.
Independent evaluation, benchmarking against recognised practices, the opportunity for national recognition, Summit participation, national visibility through NCSS channels, potential feature in publications and case studies, and membership in the Mission Safe Schools network.
Every participating school enables NCSS to deliver a School Safety & Child Protection Awareness Workshop to a deserving school with limited access to structured safety training, and is recognised as an Impact Partner for doing so.
Have questions about registration, participation, or the Summit itself? Our team is here to help your school join the Mission Safe Schools movement.
